Professional cleaning at Happy Clinic means three procedures carried out in the same session, in about 45 minutes. It is the baseline treatment that prevents cavities and gum disease, no matter how carefully you brush at home.
Ultrasonic scaling
Removes the tartar built up on the tooth surface and below the gum line, where a toothbrush cannot reach. Tartar cannot be brushed away at home, and left in place it keeps the gum inflamed.
Professional polishing
Smooths the enamel surface after scaling, using rotating brushes and professional paste. A smooth surface delays the build-up of a new layer of plaque.
Air Flow
A fine jet of air, water and powder that lifts stains from coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco, including from between the teeth. The result is the tooth's natural colour, without chemical whitening.
When you need dental scaling
The general recommendation is one cleaning every six months. You need one sooner if you notice bleeding when brushing, swollen or sensitive gums, persistent bad breath, visible deposits on the inner surface of the lower teeth, or stains from coffee and tobacco. Smokers and patients with braces need more frequent sessions.
